Certified Occupancy Specialist - Public Housing (COS-P)

The Certified Occupancy Specialist - Public Housing (COS-P) program continues the tradition established with our Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) course. COS-P Is exclusively devoted to providing Public Housing Authorities with the latest, up-to-date information. The Agency needs to insure its occupancy functions comply with HUD requirements.

The COS-P program is two and a half 2 days of training with a certification exam on the third day. Program participants will be instructed in the requirements of HUD’s Public Housing Occupancy Guidebook. NCHM incorporates the latest in multimedia technology, complete with computer-generated screens to provide students with clear examples of occupancy exercises. The Occupancy Guidebook was issued during the summer of 2003 and replaces HUD Handbook 7465.1 Rev-2.

Agenda

The three-day COS-P program begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at approximately 5:00 p.m. depending on the speed of the class. Breaks are given. Students provide their own lunch.

Training Notes

NCHM's training notes allow participants to easily follow the instructor's presentation.

Computerized COS Examination

NCHM's all-new examination form allows students to receive their test results soon after taking the COS-P test.

Notification Letter

All participants who take the COS-P test will receive a comprehensive analysis of their strengths and weaknesses in the test.

Certifications and Certification Benefits

Participants who pass the COS-P course exam will receive a certification from NCHM. Those who do not pass the COS-P examination will receive a certificate of participation. Students who pass the COS-P examination will receive NCHM benefits for a period of one year from the date of the program. (See Certified Individual description for details of benefits.)
