Occupancy and compliance training for Rural Development

Rural Housing Specialist explores the occupancy and compliance requirements of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development housing assistance programs. RHS is delivered in four, three-hour afternoon sessions. Participants have one week after the program concludes to complete an online certification exam. (RHS will also be offered as a two-day, open-enrollment class in select locations across the country. Check listings for upcoming dates and locations.)

  • Identification and calculation of income and assets
  • Applying deductions to determine adjusted income and appropriate tenant rent calculation
  • Program requirements for verifications and eligibility
  • Tenant Selection Plans and occupancy standards
  • Annual and interim recertification obligations

COURSE PROFILE

Duration: Online course taught over four afternoons
Exam: Includes online exam (online, one week to complete)
Format: Class will meet online Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1pm to 4pm EST.
