REAC conducts nearly 20,000 physical inspections a year to ensure that HUD subsidized housing is in decent, safe, and sanitary condition. Poor scores can result in a declaration of mortgage default or termination of the HAP contract. Failing scores also reflect on the owner/management company's reputation and ability to obtain financing at other properties. It is vital that you and your building are well prepared for this inspection.
