Description

On June 23, 2021, HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge issued a letter to affordable housing providers that established the Biden Administration’s stand on second chances for formerly incarcerated persons and the importance of stable housing in their reentry into our communities.  “No person should exit a prison or jail only to wind up on the streets.”

In this on-demand presentation, we will review HUD guidance on setting policies on criminal activity and look ahead at future programs under the 2021 American Rescue Plan. This on-demand course will cover:

  • The Use of an Arrest Record in Housing Decisions
  • "One Strike" Policies
  • Look-back Periods and Criminal Records
  • The effect of Disparate Impact on Selection Criteria
  • HUD’s efforts to reduce barriers under the American Rescue Plan
  • PIH Notice 2021-15 Emergency Housing Vouchers

There are 7 PDF's to download in this course. Please download those prior to watching the HUD’s Guidance on Criminal Activity and Housing Video.
