Course Terms and Conditions
(Effective as of October 1, 2025)
By registering for and attending an NCHM Course, Customer and Participant agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions:
- NCHM – National Center for Housing Management, Inc.
- Course – Any NCHM educational program, webinar, training program, or certification program offered to Participants.
- Participant – An individual registered for a Course.
- Customer – The organization or individual responsible for paying the fees for the Course, whether or not they are the Participant.
- Exam – Any test or evaluation administered by NCHM as part of a Course.
- Certification – The formal recognition issued by NCHM upon successful completion of a Course and Exam.
- Course Materials – Any printed or digital resource provided as part of the Course, including but not limited to workbooks, manuals, coursebooks, slides, video, audio, and live or recorded content.
- Force Majeure – Any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of NCHM that prevents or delays performance of its obligations, including but not limited to natural disasters (such as floods, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, or storms), acts of government, labor disputes or strikes, public health emergencies, pandemics, acts of war, terrorism, civil unrest, failure of utilities, internet or communication services, or any other event beyond NCHM’s control
2. Accommodation for Individuals with Disabilities
NCHM is committed to complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504, by providing reasonable accommodations to Participants with disabilities.
- Requesting Accommodations
- Requests must be submitted in writing by the Participant. A form for requests will be made available by requesting it from NCHM at service@NCHM.org.
- All information regarding accommodation requests will be treated confidentially.
- Requests should be submitted on the NCHM-provided form as early as possible and no later than two weeks before the start of the Course.
- Questions regarding accommodations may be directed to service@nchm.org.
- Denial of Requests
NCHM may deny a request if granting it would:
- Result in an undue financial or administrative burden, or
- Fundamentally alter the Course or program.
- Alternative Solutions
- NCHM will use its best efforts to discuss infeasible requests with the Participant and identify mutually acceptable alternatives.
3. Fees
- All Course fees are due according to the schedule provided at registration.
- Payment Methods: Credit card, check, or other methods specified during registration.
- Late Payments: NCHM may assess a $50 late fee for payments more than 15 days overdue, unless otherwise specified in writing.
- Withholding Rights: NCHM reserves the right to withhold access to Course Materials, the Course, Exam, Exam results, or Certification until payment is received.
4. Certification and Exam Policies
- Participant must comply with all Exam rules. NCHM may, in its sole discretion, invalidate Exam results or revoke Certification for any conduct it determines compromises the integrity of the Exam process. The use of unauthorized aids, giving or receiving assistance, or taking an Exam in coordination with others is expressly prohibited.
- Participant is responsible for completing the Exam according to instructions provided by NCHM.
- Participant is responsible for continuing education and Certification renewal requirements as promulgated by NCHM from time to time.
5. Release of Exam Scores and Certification Status
- Exam scores and Certification status are released to the Participant directly unless otherwise agreed to in advance with the Customer.
- The Participant must submit requests to release Exam scores or Certification status to anyone other than the Participant in writing to service@nchm.org. NCHM will respond to such requests within three (3) business days of receipt.
- Exam scores and Certification status may be withheld if payment obligations are not met.
6. Course Postponements and Cancellations
- NCHM may postpone or cancel a Course due to insufficient registrations, instructor availability, or unforeseen circumstances, including Force Majeure events.
- NCHM is not responsible for incidental expenses in case of cancellation.
- Participant affected by a cancellation under this section may choose to receive a full refund of fees paid or re-enroll in an alternative session, if available.
7. Travel, Lodging, Meals, and Incidental Expenses
- Participant is responsible for all travel, lodging, meals, and incidental expenses associated with attendance at a Course.
- NCHM is not liable for costs incurred due to travel delays, cancellations, or personal circumstances.
8. Cancellation by Customer
- Customer-initiated cancellations are subject to NCHM’s Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy, which can be found at nchm.org or by contacting NCHM at service@nchm.org.
9. Online Connectivity and Technical Problems
- Participant is responsible for establishing and maintaining a reliable internet and associated technology for all online Courses.
- NCHM is not responsible for technical issues, disruptions, or loss of service arising from the Participant’s failure to establish and maintain a reliable internet connection or other technology needed to access the Course.
- NCHM will make reasonable efforts to maintain Course platform availability, but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
10. Conduct
- Participant must comply with all security measures and rules of behavior at the Course venue or online platform.
- NCHM may remove any Participant who disrupts the Course or violates standards of behavior.
11. Copyright and Intellectual Property
- Course Materials are provided solely for the Participant’s personal educational use.
- Course Materials are NCHM’s intellectual property and may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared without the prior written permission of NCHM, which permission may be withheld in NCHM’s sole discretion.
- Course Materials may not be used for commercial purposes, resale, or inclusion in datasets used to train artificial intelligence systems.
12. Indemnification
Participant and Customer agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NCHM and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from registration or participation in a Course or misuse of Course Materials.
13. Representations and Warranties
- Participant and Customer represent and warrant that all registration information is complete and accurate.
- Participant and Customer are responsible for determining whether a Course or Certification meets their intended purposes. Participant and Customer are urged to read the Course description available online at nchm.org and contact NCHM customer service via either its online chat service or toll-free number with any questions before enrolling in a Course.
14. General
- These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
- Any disputes shall be resolved by means of arbitration. Arbitration will be conducted in Florida.
- NCHM reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time, by posting to NCHM’s website at nchm.org. Changes will apply to all enrollments after the date of posting.
