Interpreting MTAT
MTAT Score Analysis
40-50: The test-taker scored very well across all functional areas of the test. The test-taker demonstrated very good knowledge of maintenance methods, terminology, tools, and equipment. He or she was able to identify the correct underlying cause and best solution when confronted with common building maintenance problems.
Scores at this level would usually be found among the most experienced maintenance personnel or persons with considerable training and/or experience in building construction, facilities management, or related fields.
33-39: The test-taker exhibited a good working knowledge of common maintenance problems and solutions, with some gaps. Scores at this level would be in the range of scores typically expected from experienced maintenance personnel or persons with some training and/or experience in building construction, facilities management or related fields.
21-32: The test-taker exhibited some knowledge of common maintenance problems and solutions but with some significant gaps. Employer should proceed with caution; take additional measures to identify areas of weakness; and double check there is a good match between experience/skills of the candidate and the requirements of the position. Scores at this level might be expected from entry-level candidates or persons with only a general familiarity with building maintenance and/or construction.
0-20: The test-taker failed to demonstrate a minimum level of knowledge of common building maintenance problems and solutions or knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, or equipment. Scores at this level might be expected from entry-level, inexperienced candidates or persons with little familiarity with building maintenance and/or construction.
